Indirect Cost (Overhead) Policy

CureDuchenne commits the greatest possible share of every dollar to research and care for Duchenne — not to institutional overhead. Accordingly:

• Gifts to medical and research institutions carry 0% indirect costs.
• Sponsored research awards carry a maximum of 5% indirect costs, calculated on direct costs only.

Patient care
No indirect costs are ever paid on patient care. Funds provided for patient care and participant costs are dedicated entirely to patients and are excluded from any overhead calculation.

The 5% is applied to direct costs only, excluding patient care and participant costs, permanent equipment, subawards, and tuition.

Equity investments made through CureDuchenne Ventures are investments, not grants or gifts, and are not covered by this policy.
